Our published work outlines the key findings to date, challenges, and evidence-based recommendations for accessing, empowering, and engaging children and families from diverse backgrounds in creative and cultural activities. Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, the findings to date highlight that participation in arts and cultural activities fosters confidence and socialisation and contributes to children’s holistic development. The research findings also provide evidence-based insights into the transformative potential of arts and cultural activities for children and their parents and underscore the vital role of arts and cultural activities in children’s lives. The aim to serve as a valuable resource for policymakers, educators and stakeholders, offering actionable recommendations to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for early childhood engagement in arts and culture.
